This year Russian Center’s annual festival highlighting Russian culture, food and entertainment is set for Feb. 10-12. The theme is the 200th anniversary of Fort Ross. First time visitors will be impressed with the building itself, built in 1911 and purchased by the Russian community in 1939. My grandparents, Olga and Nicolai Mamontoff were among those who helped fundraise monies for its purchase.
