If you want fresh and amazing produce check out Paul’s Roadside Farm Stand, now open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 19655 Arnold Drive, in Sonoma, California. Paul and wife, Candi Edmondson, live right on the land where they grow fruits and vegetables for local farmers’ markets, restaurants and now- their very own country stand. If you don’t live in the area, a visit to Paul’s can make for a delightful weekend spin in the countryside with an added bonus of bringing home some of the best produce in Sonoma county. For more news from Paul via Candi who does the updates go to http://paulsproduce.wordpress.com/.
Paul’s is a place I can readily recommend to my readers if they want the freshest, seasonal ingredients with which to make some of my Russian American dishes. Roasted peppers made with those from Paul’s plot are to die for! Just take a look at the platter of fruits and veggies I brought home last week.
The raspberries were pure ambrosia without anything on them at all! If you can make it to Sonoma, Candi and Paul offer a box of assorted seasonal delights from November through April for $20 a week. For more information or to subscribe call (707) 996-6610. You can go for as little as a month at a time or for the full season.
This has been the year of new starts for Candi and Paul. First a wedding on April 1st, then a move to live on their own land, and now a roadside outlet. Who knows what’s next- and regardless- I wish them the very best since that’s what they do for all of us. By the way, Candi is also an artist and offers her own wonderful country themes on http://candieded.wordpress.com/.
